ABOUT WHITE LABEL EVENTS
Long before founding White Label Events, Ray helped shape one of the most legendary race programs in motorsport. After buying a McLaren F1 road car in 1994, he asked Ron Dennis if it could be converted into a race car. The answer was no—but Ron offered to build a new one from scratch.
That conversation sparked the beginning of McLaren's GTR program. With co-drivers like James Weaver and Maurizio Sala, Ray's team won on debut and eventually took the BPR Global GT Championship in 1996.
In 1997, fresh from a career in endurance racing, Ray Bellm took his McLaren F1 GTR—still bearing its Le Mans livery—on a road trip few would dare attempt. The race car was made road legal (just), and Ray drove it all the way back to the circuit where it had made history, this time on road tyres, a horn fitted, and an intercom to speak over the V12's deafening roar.
The car screamed down the A28 past diesel hatchbacks and awestruck motorists, a full-blooded racer on public roads. The trip was a fitting postscript to a career of hard driving—and the starting point of what would become White Label Events.
At Villa Feltrinelli in 2022, we brought together the two McLaren F1 GTRs Ray raced in 1996—side by side for the first time in over two decades. It was a quiet moment of reflection in the setting sun.
More than nostalgia, it underscored something essential: that great journeys, whether on track or across continents, are best shared—and remembered well. That philosophy lies at the heart of every White Label Events experience.
Today, White Label Events is run by Flossy Bellm together with Ray and a small team. Together, they plan each event with care—remarkable roads, beautiful places, and an atmosphere that's relaxed and unpretentious.
